Mat 22 : 1-14
Jesus describes how the kingdom of heaven was inviting people, but who actually do get to enter?
The King sent his servants to those who had been invited. But they ignored the invitation. This illustrates how God’s disciples went to spread the truth about the kingdom of God, but the Pharisees and Sadducees dismissed them and mistreated them. Then God was enraged and ‘destroyed’ them. Hence they were unable to enter the kingdom.
Then the King sent his servants to invite anyone on the streets. The good and the bad. This illustrates our duty as Jesus’ disciples to spread the gospel to every person in the world.
A man was not wearing the wedding dresscode. So the King threw him out. This illustrates the respond of people after receiving the gospel. Will they ‘dress’, act in God’s terms or will they follow their own desire? These kind of people are the people who are not chosen to enter the kingdom, although they have received the gospel.
